MSC MERAVIGLIA transformed the prestigious port of Le Havre into Hollywood for a night.
By releasing the traditional champagne bottle onto the ship, Sophia Loren began a spectacular crescendo of light shows, champagne waterfalls and sea water sprays that marked the crisping of the MSC Meraviglia.
Over 2000 guests marvelled at the sight of the 13th addition to our world leading fleet and were further entertained by shows from top international performers like Gad Elmaleh, one of Europe's most loved comedians, the Kids United dance group and Patrick Bruel, one of the most familiar faces in French cinema, TV, theatre and pop music.

During the ceremony of Flag Handover, Mr. Gianluigi Aponte, MSC Group's founder and executive chairman,  also signed the official order to begin construction of the first World Class cruise ships ever to be built. The ships are expected to be completed in 2026, non-only raising immense curiosity about the project and its futuristic innovations, but also confirming the company’s long-term commitment to constant growth in this sector.
The evening continued with an exclusive gala dinner, prepared exclusively by two-star Michelin chef Hélène Daroze. While enjoying a unique menu, guests found themselves in the company of special guests; from local dignitaries, travel industry representatives, showbiz stars and the top management from our mother company.
The celebrations lived up to the ships new name, Meraviglia that means wonder, and were all inspired by the Wonders of the World.
