Andrea Bisio, Fleet Corporate Chef, was born in Novi Ligure, Italy. His interest in the culinary arts was kindled as a young boy, watching his mother cooking over a wood-burning stove and helping out as she prepared the favourite dishes of their extended family.
Andrea started his career while still studying at hotel school in Genoa, gaining employment as Assistant Cook in a restaurant in his home town. When he was 16 years old, he began acquiring extensive culinary knowledge working alongside renowned Italian and international chefs on prestigious cruise ships in the Caribbean. This was consolidated with equally-valuable experience at a very well-known golf club in the hills above Gavi.
Andrea joined the MSC family in 2000 as Chef de partie, rapidly progressing to Executive Chef. He loves simple cuisine that brings out the rich flavours of traditional natural ingredients. In addition, he also has a passion for oriental village fare, which he discovers and loves to cook and develop with his Balinese wife.
He now shares his love of Mediterranean cuisine with MSC Cruises travellers, which he finds incredibly rewarding: “I am always thrilled to see guests smiling with joy as they savour my culinary creations”.
