Exclusive Shu Uemura rituals, a Himalayan salt bed and more
The MSC Aurea Spa on board MSC Divina will be an oriental paradise with superb sea views, where the scent of essential oils, soft candlelight and exotic modern décor combining natural stones, wood and rich mosaics, invite guests to create a personal path to health, wellness and beauty.
Based on the latest research and development, the 21 kinds of massage spanning from Shiatsu to Thai, the 13 body treatments from thalassotherapy scrubs to hot lava stone treatments, and the eight facials available will turn well-being into an art form.
Many of the treatments offered by MSC Cruises’ rigorously selected Balinese masseuses are exclusive creations, including the MSC signature Candle massage, Himalayan dream “pure body” massage, and exotic shell massage l’Aurea del Mare.
Exclusive to the upcoming MSC Divina, two new well-being beds will be installed to amplify the relaxing effects of the Himalayan dream and Candle massage experience.
A healing Himalayan salt crystal bed for deep relaxation and detox will be the first of its kind on a cruise ship. Halotherapy, or salt therapy, involves lying on a bed of 130kg of Himalayan salt crystals heated from 32 -40°C, breathing salt-infused air and simultaneously soaking up light therapy, and is deeply relaxing. As the lungs and the skin absorb some of the salt bed’s 84 essential minerals as fine particles, muscular and nervous tension is relaxed, anxiety is reduced and the sinuses and the lungs are decongested. The therapy also helps reduce water retention and is a perfect anti-cellulite treatment.
A water bed will also be installed to enhance the experience of l’Aurea del Mare, or "shell therapy." Whilst guests relax on the soothing water bed, pearly pink clam shells are carefully warmed in hot sea extract oils and their smooth surfaces and contoured shapes gently massage away stress and tension.
The addition of an ultra-exclusive Shu Uemura Art of Hair cabin to the beauty salon of the new ship means that guests will be able to indulge in four sought-after rituals developed by the Japanese masterof beauty. The inner beauty of all hair types will shine through after the ultimate Shu Uemura Deep Ceremony for scalp, hair and body, with purifying oils, bespoke deep-cleansing techniques and a sensorial Shiatsu based massage. The invigorating Intense Ceremony, the Karaa Ceremony for colour radiance and the 15-minute Introduction Ceremony will also leave locks as soft as Shusu satin.
After one of these sumptuous treatments, guests will leave the MSC Aurea Spa radiating serenity and beauty, ready to make the most of a fabulous ship and the rest of their holiday.
